Encounter Youth Gatherings | Sunday Evenings – 6:30PM-8:30PM – 6th to 12thgraders are invited to come for our weekly time of fellowship, games, snacks, and study of God’s Word.

Our Mission

Encounter Youth Ministryexists to build up the church bycoming alongside and partnering with parents to help pour into the next generation of students that God has entrusted to us. We strive to do this through providing a fun and safe environment for all students who attend as we fellowship, play games, and worship together.

The Gospel

Our only hope in life or death is found in Christ alone (Rom. 14:7-8). Therefore, we strive to always put Christ before them by intentionally sharing the message of salvation as taught within the Scriptures (2 Cor. 5:21; Rom. 10:9). As we do this, our hope and prayer for each student is that as they encounter Christ through His Word, that they would turn from their sin, receive Him as Savior, and experience the joy of having a relationship with Him (1 Pet. 1:8; Ps. 16:11).

The Word

We hope that each student would see that the Bible is more than just any other book. It is a gift from God given to us so that we can know Him and who we are called to be as His people.So, we aim to give them a solid foundation in the Word of God. Our leaders strive to accomplish this through teaching the Scriptures to the students every week and by helping them learnhow to study it on their own. We also pray that the Spirit would give them an understanding and love for the Word of God (Eph. 1:17-18; 1 Cor. 2:10-13; John 16:12-15).

The Church

We are not called to live the Christian life on our own, but to be part of a local church body and to actively serve in community with other believers. Once they trust in Christ for salvation, then we strive to help them discern how God has gifted them to serve as an integral part ofthe Body of Christ that is being used tofurther His Kingdom (1 Cor. 12:12-27; Eph. 3:10-11).

We continue to build up the church on the foundation of Jesus as we take what was passed on to us and continue to pass it on to others. We do this with the students that God has entrusted to us with the hope that they would continue to do the same (Mt. 28:19-20)

What to Expect?

Our youth meetings begin every Sunday evening at 6:30PM with a time of fellowship where students will play games, hang out, and eat snacks. This allows the adult leaders to check in with the students and see how their week went. We have a large group game around 7:00PM and then head into the main sanctuary to have a time of worship from 7:30PM to 8:30PM. During this time, we use the R.E.A.P.Bible Study Method to study our passage for the night in the book of the Bible that we are working through together. So, we Read our passage for the night and then break into gender specific small groups to Examine the text. After breaking into small groups, we come back together into one large group to examine the passage and think through how we can Apply these truths to our lives. We finish by allowing what we learned to lead us in a time of Prayer. Our hope is that our students will learn a simple method of how to study the Bible on their own as we meet together each week.

Leadership

All our adult leaders are required to have a background check prior to serving in our youth ministry. Here are the leaders who are involved in discipling the students and who are making sure that this remains a safe and fun environment for everyone who comes.
