The Way of Happiness (The Beatitudes Part 2)

Big Idea: Jesus is the way to happiness.

1.) Matthew 5:6 - "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."

       a.) Have a deep longing for Jesus

       b.) What do you hunger for?

       c.) Th promise to be filled guaranteed.

2.) Matt. 5:7 "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy."

       a.) Parable of the "Good Samaritan"

            - the one who showed mercy

            - you go and do likewise

       b.) Always looking to restore others

       c.) Always think the best of others

3.) Matt. 5:8 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."

       a.) Shalom

       b.) Peacemakers: people whop actively bring about peace.

            - Most peace want peace but not willing to make peace.

            - Peacemaking will cost us; will require sacrifice

            - Jesus brought peace on the cross
